In the same periods the malga can be reached on foot, with snowshoes and skis, along the paths (1), (2), (3), (4), (5).
On snowy days and in the following three or four days, avoid taking the route (4), which could be subject to avalanches.
Next to the crystal hotel, take the small road that goes uphill through all the meadows above the hotel. The road then turns into a comfortable flat path through a forest of spruce trees until it crosses the road. After passing it, you enter a comfortable forest road that, with flat and slightly uphill stretches, among firs, maples and larches, leads to pastures and to the Malga.
From the small church of Misurina; immediately above the Col De Varda chairlift station, follow the Misurina-Auronzo cycle path for 700 metres, slightly downhill, until you reach the signs for the Maraia malga and Rifugio Carpi huts, from where the path starts, immersed in a fir wood, which slightly rises to the Pian Maccetto clearing. After passing it, the path continues at the foot of the Cadini di Misurina among larches, dwarves and in June July, rhododendrons in bloom, until it crosses the forest road that, from Bus de Pogofa, descends to Malga Maraia. Follow it for a kilometre until you reach a hairpin bend and then take a path through fir trees that leads to the high pastures of Maraia. Cross over there and descend slightly to reach the Malga.
To return to Misurina you can go down to the Albergo Cristallo following the itinerary (2) and then take advantage of the bus service provided by Dolomibus during the summer (information to be taken from the Malga for timetables).
From the Refuge, follow the small downhill road until you cross the forest road with the signs for Rifugio Carpi and Malga Maraia. Follow this flat and slightly downhill path, located at the foot of the southern slopes of the Cadini with an unparalleled view over the chain of Marmarole-Sorapis-Cristallo, to the locality of Bus de Pogofa, where the forest road that descends to Malga Maraia begins. Follow it for 1500 metres until you reach a hairpin bend and then take a path through fir trees that leads to the high pastures of Maraia. You cross them and slightly descend to reach the Malga.
To return to Misurina you can go down to the Albergo Cristallo following the itinerary (2) and then take advantage of the bus service provided by Dolomibus in the summer (information to be taken to the Malga for timetables).
From the Refuge Follow the small road that leads to the locality of Bus de Pogofa (towards Misurina) and then follow the route (4)
Take the small road in front of Albergo Cristallo and, after crossing the bridge over the Ansiei stream, take the Auronzo Misurina cycle path and follow it to the little church above the Col De Varda chairlift station. Continue along the dirt road that leads to the Col De Varda Refuge and then take the itinerary (3).
To return to Albergo Cristallo follow the itinerary (2)
The route starts from a dirt road on the left coming from Auronzo (immediately after the Corte’s Ranch farm, following the CAI 120 sign). After a short uphill stretch you come to a wooden hut with a remarkable view over the Valley of San Vito, Torre dei Sabbioni and Corno del Doge. The path then continues through the fir wood until it joins the path (2) and then to the pastures and the Malga Maraia.
